Tips for donating pet food
  • Check the requirements: Some organizations prefer unopened bags of dry food and specific types of wet food. Check their website or call ahead to see what is most needed.
  • Contact smaller rescue groups: In addition to the larger shelters, smaller, foster-based rescues in the East and South Charlotte area often welcome food donations. You can find them by searching online and checking their websites.
  • Check local community boards: For example, the Charlotte subreddit has had posts about donation sites, and social media groups for specific neighborhoods are great resources for finding local donation boxes.
