Maureen McCarthy (Owner/Animal Lover)
Pack LeaderMy name is Maureen McCarthy, I moved to Indian Trail NC in July 2006 with my husband (retired NYC Police Officer) and my beautiful daughter. I have 3 wonderful dogs and 2 goldfish. I would have cats, however, my husband is allergic to them. So, I do get to spend some time loving up on the kitties when my clients have cats for me to care for. I have always had a love for animals for as long as I can remember. When I was a child I brought home every stray that I found, and my mom would always tell me “Maureen, you can not save them all” In 1980 I started a summer job working in a dog grooming shop and ended up working there for 8 years. I then moved on to open my own grooming shop. I have worked with dogs and cats either grooming or pet sitting since 1980. when I moved to NC in 2006 I started Love and Kisses Pet Sitting. I had to fly to NY for a wedding and had no one to care for my dog so I boarded him ( I would never board my dog again). He came home with no bark and a scratched up and bloody nose ( from trying to get out of the cage). I said I don’t want any other dog to have to go through that and that is why I started my pet sitting/dog walking business. I was always told to follow my heart and so I did!!! My promise to you is that I will care for your pets as I would want mine cared for.
All Our Pet Sitters Undergo Continuing Education
Lead pet sitter/Animal LoverI am originally from Orange County California. I moved to the North Carolina with my husband, two children and at the time, one dog in 2006. I have loved animals as long as I can remember and much to my parent’s dismay would always bring home any stray that I found. Over the years, we have had dogs, cats, birds, mice, hamsters, and fish! After starting my own family, I was surprised to learn that my youngest was very afraid of animals. Her older brother wanted a dog badly and began trying to convince her that the way to get over her fear was to get a big dog of their own. She finally agreed and that is how we got Roxy! We found Roxy at the pound in California and adopted her when she was 4 months old. Roxy is said to be a German Shepherd/Akita mix, and we love her! After getting settled into our new home, I decided Roxy needed a fur friend and set out to find a perfect match. I knew black dogs were the hardest to get adopted, so I began checking various shelters for a large black dog with the right temperament to deal with Roxy and her powerful presence. I found Bear, a Pit/Lab mix who was 1 yr old and had never had a family ask to meet him! He captured my heart and we brought him home. He was very fearful of people but loved animals. Go figure! He has been part of the family for 6 yrs now and the difference is amazing. I have often pet sit for neighbors and love their pets like they were my own and now I have the opportunity to meet and love even more animals
Assistant office manager/Lead Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHi, I am Heather and I am originally from Mobile, Alabama. I moved to North Carolina (Weddington) with husband and two children in 2001. I have four dogs, two Labs named Bree and Katie, a Yorkie named Sam and a Beagle named Jules. I have always loved animals and can not remember a time that I did not have a pet. I would love to have a farm where I could have as many animals as I wanted. Since I probably will not have a farm I thought getting to play with your pets would be the next best thing! I look forward to caring for your pets and keeping you updated as to how they are doing in my care.

Pet Sitter/Animal Lover
Hello. My name is Sylvia and I am originally from Bethlehem PA. I moved to beautiful NC 10 years ago and currently live in Monroe with my daughter. I have 2 adorable fur babies…Rosie my little poodle mix and Minnie my Chihuahua. In addition to our dogs, and thanks to my daughter, we also share our home with a Corn Snake named Oogie and a Bearded Dragon named Barrel. I have always been an animal lover and advocate for animal causes.
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverMy name is Kim Malkin. I grew up in Charlotte, NC and moved to the Union County area 20 years ago. I am a volunteer with Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina. I have three Boston’s of my own. My female BT is a special need little girl, I have small energetic (wild!) senior male and a big, healthy six-year-old “puppy”. I have a special place in my heart for seniors and special needs pets. My family and I have had a range of dogs from Chihuahuas to Pit Bulls as well as cats, hamsters, tarantulas and an iguana. Working as a pet sitter is not like work at all. It’s fun! I enjoy walking, playing and getting to know your pets. Thank you for trusting me to take care of your “furry children”. I promise to give them the love and care they deserve and you expect.
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHi! My name is Katie and I recently moved to Indian Trail from Syracuse NY. I am a married, stay at home mother of 3 with 7 fur babies! Sasha is our youngest, a 1-year-old Great Dane. Figment is a mini poodle, Gus a Collie mix and Belle a lab mix. We also have 3 cats named Oswald, Daisy, and Oliver. I love animals, as does my family. All of our cats were once strays and Gus & Belle were rescues. I am super excited to be able to love and care for your fur babies as well because if I had the room in my house I would certainly be allowing my kiddos to rescue more animals in need of a loving home! I look forward to giving your fur babies all the love and attention they need as well as peace of mind for you that they are in excellent hands!
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHi, I’m Angela. I was born and raised in South Carolina and moved to North Carolina nearly 20 years ago. My passion has always been helping the “underdog,” especially those with disabilities, but I was truly hooked on animals and rescue when I experienced their amazing ability to compensate and persevere after an injury or impairment all while maintaining the same loving attitude. This occurred when my first dog went deaf and then the second went blind while in their senior years. From that point on, they stayed side by side and became the ears and eyes for each other. Then I adopted a crippled rabbit and as they say, the rest is history. For the last several years I have volunteered extensively and fostered with a local animal rescue organization. I am also a North Carolina certified wildlife rehabilitator caring for injured and orphaned wildlife. Along with my husband and two children, my family includes rescued dogs, rabbits, and birds, each with an interesting story. I understand how important pets are to our families, each with their unique needs, and would be privileged to be entrusted to care for your pets where they feel most safe and comfortable.
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHi! My name is Nancy. I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. Upon learning that my husband’s family business was going to be expanding to the Charlotte area, we made the decision to move our family south. We decided to settle down in Indian Trail in July 2016 and we absolutely love it! Animals have had a special place in my heart since I was a little girl. Being captivated by their innocence and purity, I have always been drawn to help, nurture and love them. I have several years experience working at dog daycares, boarding and grooming facilities as well as volunteering and fostering for animal rescue organizations. For the first time in many years, I currently only have one pet, Griffin. He is a 3-year-old Lab/Hound mix that we got as a puppy from a rescue organization in Buffalo, NY. Ironically, he and his sisters were brought up north from the Carolinas. Little did he know he would be back to his roots a few years later! I have had to leave my many pets at home or in boarding facilities when traveling and I know how nerve racking that can be. I do my best to make your pet feel as safe and secure as they do when you are home with them. I love meeting and making new animal friends and I look forward to sharing my time and attention with your best friend soon!
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHi, I am Lori, I grew up in the Midwest but have called NC home for over 25 years. I am married with one daughter who is 12 years old. My work background is in medical/pharmaceutical sales but I have always had a passion for all animals, especially rescued ones of any kind. We have 2 adorable rescue dogs, Coco and Chica and would have more if I could convince my family to move to a farm! I really would like to have a donkey! I am excited to work with Love and Kisses Pet Sitting and spend my time to love your animals!
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHello, my name is Mary. My family and I moved to Waxhaw 11 years ago. I am married to John – a licensed plumber. I am a stay-at-home mom of (3) teenagers; our oldest is going off to college this Fall. I am an animal lover! As a ‘tween’ I used my allowance to become a member of ASPCA. My mother was the local ‘cat lady’ and so we gave a home to many stray kitties when I was growing up. Unfortunately because one of my children has severe asthma, we do not have our own fur baby. I have had the wonderful opportunity to care for my friend’s and neighbor’s canines and felines for many years. I am excited to be part of Love and Kisses Pet Sitters and look forward to caring for your furry-darling soon.
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHello! My name is Stacy. I am originally from Roanoke Rapids, NC but have called Union County home for almost 20 years. I grew up in the country and had countless animals as a child. From dogs and cats to sheep, goats, donkeys, and even a pet raccoon… I have always loved animals! As a pet owner, we have always had dogs (Labs, Akitas, and German Shepherds), cats, fancy rats, and various reptiles. We currently have two beautiful German Shepherds named Bear and Daisy and a ball python named Ol’ Boy. My absolute favorite things about any animal are the eyes…. German Shepherds, especially, seem to gaze at you as if they are peering into your heart and soul. One day, I would like to work with therapy dogs and children who have experienced trauma. I am a school counselor and have worked with Union County Public Schools for 16 years, but wanted to do a little something different this summer and decided to do some pet sitting. I look forward to meeting and caring for your animals!
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverMy name is Beth and I have lived in Union County all of my life. I have been married for seventeen years and we have two sons who are 13 and 11 years old. I have always had pets in my life. Currently, I have a five-year-old Jack Russell named Butterbean who believe it or not is shy and timid. He loves sitting with us and of course, has a special place to sleep on our bed. My 13-year old son saved up money and rescued our cat, Oliver, who is now two years old. Oliver has a fun personality when he isn’t napping (which is most of the time)! Our 11-year old son has a hamster he named Palmer and Palmer are very active at night and has pretty long hair. We also have four fish tanks. Through the years all of my dogs and cats have been rescued animals including Butterbean and Oliver. I truly have a love for all animals and I will do my very best to take care of your animals while you are away.
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHi! My name is Crystal. I am from Charlotte, NC and moved to Indian Trail almost 14 years ago. I am married and a mom of two boys and three fur babies. We have three crazy cats Rosie, Nico, and Buddy and I am proud to say they have me wrapped around their little paws. I grew up having dogs, birds, ferrets, fish, hamsters, mice, rabbits, an iguana and anything else I could convince my parents to let me take care of (although I did try and sneak a chicken into the house once). I also seemed to be a magnet for stray or lost dogs and injured birds and baby squirrels. I helped reunite many lost dogs with their gracious owners and nursed many birds and squirrels back to nature. I have always had a love for animals and the joy they bring into your life. I cannot think of a better way to spend a day than to be with animals. I am excited to be a part of Love and Kisses and I look forward to being able to spend time with your fur babies and provide for your pets needs!
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverMy name is Alicia. NC has always been home for me & I’ve lived in Indian Trail for 17 years. I’m a mother to 3 lovely humans and we currently have 3 rambunctious canines and 1 shy feline. I’ve been an animal lover all my life; in fact, there isn’t a day that has gone by that I haven’t had a dog by my side. I’ve owned dogs, cats, fish & guinea pigs. I’ve been around ferrets, iguanas & snakes thanks to my brother. This past summer I volunteered at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue in their baby bird feeding program & that was an awesome experience. I’m excited to be a part of the Love and Kisses pet sitting team and I promise to provide the best love and care I can possibly give when I’m with your family members.
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverHi, my name is Taylor and I am 28, soon to be 29 years old. I am originally from Los Angeles, California. I now live in Monroe. I have two adorable fur babies. My cats are my everything! I don’t know what I would do without them. Their names are Greysie (Miss Priss) and Milo. They both are rescue cats found on the street as kittens. As long as I can remember we have always had pets in our home growing up. I will treat every animal I sit for as if they were my own. I have always been a huge animal lover! I look forward to caring for your pets and making sure your mind is at ease while you are away or working and that your fur babies are well taken care of in my care.
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverMy name is Shelly Lloyd. I graduated from Clemson University in 1999. I am a wife, a mother to 3 humans and 4 furry ones. I am also a foster mom to 2 little furry critters. I love animals. I would love to live on some land one day so I could have even more animals. I have always wanted to be a Veterinarian and went to Clemson in Animal Science. Sadly, I didn’t take school serious enough and gave up on the dream of vet school. I worked as a vet tech for several years while attending Clemson. My children are all in Elementary school now so I have decided to find some work that I love! Taking care of animals. The animals at the vet always hated being boarded. They never ate. They got love and attention but not very often. And the cages were awful. I decided then that my animals would never be boarded. That is why I am happy to help care for your animals in your home or mine!
Pet Sitter/Animal LoverI am NJ native, most recently living in Cherry Hill, NJ. In 2011, I moved to Charlotte with my husband Bill, and our two kitties, Rosie and Rocket.
My son had moved down here in 2006 for a job, and we decided to follow a few years later. We have been able to enjoy our grandchildren, and the more laid-back lifestyle down here. I have had cats most of my life, and love all animals. Sadly, we lost Rocket in 2014, and Rosie a month ago. So I am without a pet for the first time in years. While I’m sure there will be another cat or two in my future, I have decided to enjoy taking care of other people’s furry friends for the time being. I have volunteered at an animal rescue in the past and found that very rewarding. I look forward to caring for your pets; they will definitely get lots of “love and kisses”
