The Depot at Gibson Mill – Another Pet-Friendly Shopping Experience

Pet-Friendly shopping opportunities are becoming more popular than ever thanks to unique destinations such as the Depot at Gibson Mill.  If you read our blog about the Sleepy Poet Antique Mall then you’re going to love this one! It’s similar in taste to that experience, only grander.  You’ll love it and so will your pet, because he’s happy wherever you are, right?

Location, Location, Location

Let’s put first things first, shall we? The pet-friendly Depot at Gibson Mill is conveniently located just north of Charlotte at 325 McGill Avenue NW in Concord, North Carolina.  Getting there is a cinch and parking is plentiful, and boy, do we mean plentiful.  They welcome busses and RV’s!

So, what is the Depot at Gibson Mill?

Simply put, the pet-friendly Depot at Gibson Mill is the “largest and most popular antique mall in the Southeastern United States”.  It’s true.  This pet-friendly destination boasts 88,000 square feet of shopping goodness.  You’ll be at no shortage of shopping options because there 5 buildings housing over 600 dealers on site! More Perks about the Depot at Gibson Mill

Aside from the shopping experience itself, other perks are involved.  If you’re looking for somewhere to bring your dog, this is the place.  According to Bring Fido’s website, the Depot at Gibson Mill loves and welcomes dogs with manners and to us, that’s the best perk of all!  It doesn’t end there though. Hungry? No worries, the Depot boasts a fantastic place to eat right on site. Ellie’s diner has something for everyone.  From handcrafted beverages to sandwiches, burgers and even Mexican food, Ellie’s Diner will tempt your taste buds, no doubt. Take a look at their menu and you’ll see what I mean.   Not only that, regular shoppers are rewarded with a customer loyalty card, which is great for locals or those interested in frequent trips.

How did the Depot at Gibson Mill get their start?

Rich in history, the now pet-friendly Gibson Mill has been around for hundreds of years, quite literally.  Employing families in Cabarrus County and beyond, Gibson Mill produced bedding until the unfortunate (or fortunate, depending on how you look at it) change in manufacturing here in the United States.  Manufacturing experienced a “global shift” and most manufacturers moved production overseas to places like China.  The shift sadly closed the doors of business on Gibson Mill.
