Take a sunset cruise on Lake Lure and witness some of the most pleasing scenery known to man. Take a day trip to Chimney Rock Park and hike to Hickory Nut Falls! Camp by the river at Hickory Nut Campground and relax by your onsite fire pit as you listen to the rushing river go by! Book a stay in a quaint little mountain cabin or enjoy the lake in a beautiful house on the shores of Lake Lure. Blue Ridge Parkway
The Blue Ridge Parkway is MUST DO during the fall foliage season! Hop on the Parkway and enjoy the stunning mountain views as you drive down one of the most striking parkways in the world! There are many places to stop along the way and lots to see! There is Craggy Gardens which boasts some short hiking trails and picnic areas. Take a day trip to Mount Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Mississippi! Pull over and view the many waterfalls and honk your horns as you travel through the exciting and entertaining tunnels! The parkway offers UNSURPASSED views of the changing leaves! You definitely want to add this to your to-do list!
The Biltmore Estate
The Biltmore Estate is located in the Asheville area and is a historic mansion straight from the Gilded Age. It was built by George Vanderbilt between 1889 and 1895 and is the largest privately owned home in America! This grand home is open daily to visitors to enjoy the opulence of another time! Tour the house and view all the wonder within or take a drive down to the winery and sample some of the sweet nectar straight from this beautiful estates own vineyards! Have a decadent lunch in one of the many restaurants and dine as if you were a guest of Mr. Vanderbilt, himself! How about a horse and carriage ride or a walk through the magnificent gardens? They have many lovely hotels on the property to choose from or book a stay in historic Asheville.
