The old question… Should I board my dog or cat in a dog kennel or have a pet sitter come into my home and care for my dog or cat? I know what answer I would choose…….. However, here is why having a Pet Sitter is better than boarding.
I wrote about this subject before but I feel the need to wrote about it again, with the holidays and summer break coming. I know that “some” (I use that word lightly) people have to board their dog because of certain issues regarding their dogs’ behavior. However, if your dog is a well-behaved dog and loves his yard or walks around the block, then I have to ask you “Why oh why would put him/her in a kennel while you are on a vacation. As a pet sitter here in Indian Trail, I have many clients that just LOVE our service. We are bonded and insured for your safety. Love and Kisses Pet Sitting are professionals in this business. We meet you and go over all the information re your pets needs. We send you FREE text messages to your phone as at to how your pet is doing. We even send you pictures of your pet if you like. We are fully insured and bonded and have GPS tracking and state of the art online booking system.
Did you ever wonder how the pet must feel when you drop them off and say goodbye to them? I did some grooming in a boarding kennel here in Indian Trail and let me tell you when I would be there and have to listen to these poor dogs crying and barking ALL day long. They have not let out all day like some places say there are. They are let out maybe 3 or 4 times a day and then brought back into their “cage’s” to sleep on a cold floor and cry or bark. When you hire a pet sitter, we visit the pet in their own home and give them lots of one on one attention and love that they deserve. We go for long walks or play catch in the yard as long as the yard is fenced in.
I have worked with animals for over 20 years, I did dog grooming and also did volunteering in vets offices and now pet sitting. I know pets have feelings too. And you can bet that when you drop them off at a dog kennel and they smell the fear all around them, they are going to be feeling pretty fearful too.
Now you tell me, which option would you choose? In-home pet sitting is the one I know I would choose. Please call us first before you decide to put your dog in a kennel for a “vacation”. It is NOT a vacation for them, I can assure you that.
