People sometimes ask me why we charge extra for holiday pet sitting or dog walking. The answer is quite simple. When you work on a holiday don’t you get holiday pay? You probably get time and a half. Well, my pet sitters are all entitled to get a little extra for working on a holiday also. I have no problem working on a holiday to care for all the pets that are home. I would rather see the pets stay home in their own home, safe and sound than traveling. When a pet travels, sometimes it is very stressful for them. Even being put in a kennel with all the barking and frightened dogs, they can smell the fear on the other dogs. So, leave your pet at home and we will be more than happy to come to your home (yes on a holiday) to care for your fur kid.
The holiday charge is really not that bad. Just think of this way, the pet sitter is leaving their families several times a day to go and care for your pets and probably has a full schedule on the holiday also.
