Planning Ahead For Your Pets Passing

Planning Ahead For Your Pets Passing – Heritage Funeral Home Is Here To Help You

There comes a time in our pets live that we have to say goodbye.  It is a very difficult position to be in however for our beloved pets it sometimes takes some planning.  We don’t always want to face it but if you have things in place for when the time comes, it will make things a lot easier for you.

As the owner of Love and Kisses Pet Sitting in Union County NC, I get lots of emails and calls from my clients asking me what to do when the time comes.  I try to give the best advice I can as I have been in their position several times in my life of owning pets.  A few weeks ago, I received a call from a client that owned a beautiful cat.  She explained to me that her cat had passed away and wanted me to come by to drop off her house key.  I schedule a drop off date and time and we chatted on her porch.  My client explained to me that her cats passing was a very difficult decision that she and her husband had to make.  She explained to me that she brought her sweet kitty to Heritage Funeral Home   She explained that after the vet put her cat to sleep she then brought her to the funeral home and had the cat cremated and that it was such a peaceful experience.

I had never heard of this before and she also told me that she had previously bought the box to keep her precious cats remains in ahead of time as she knew this day was coming as the cat was growing ill.  They bought the keepsake box at Memorials.com

After hearing this I reached out to Heritage Funeral Home to discuss the process and cost associated with this.  Below you will see the information and I really hope this helps you plan and deal with your pets passing as it did my client.

Dear Ms. McCarthy,

My name is Terry Hough. I work for Heritage Funeral Home and run the crematorium. As such, I handle the pet cremations. Our pet service is called Peaceful Pets. We own and operate our own crematorium which is located in Matthews between Stallings and Indian Trail on Matthews-Indian Trail Road. We do private, or individual, pet cremations-one at a time, never together, to ensure that the pet owner receives only his/her pet’s cremated remains back. Our charges are based on the size of the pet:
0-15 pounds         $125.00
15-50 pounds       $175.00
50-100 pounds     $225.00
Over 100 pounds  $225.00 plus $1.00 per pound over 100 pounds
Most of our clients bring their pets to us because it gives them closure, but we can pick them up at their home or at the veterinarian’s office if necessary for an additional fee, depending on the distance.
Our hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. On weekends and after hours, we will try to work something out with the pet owner.
You can reach Peaceful Pets by calling Heritage Funeral Home in Indian Trail at 704-821-2960 anytime. After hours and on weekends the answering service will get messages to us.
If you would like to come out and see the facilities and talk to me, I would be glad to meet with you.
Sincerely,
Terry Hough
Manager of Peaceful Pets
