I know cats can be shy and that is fine.  We can just stop in to make sure all is well and your cat is eating and drinking and doing well.  Make sure they did not get into any mischief.  Cats do so much better in their own home than in a kennel locked in a cage. I am sure of that.  I worked in a vets office and the cats that get boarded there are put in a cage with a litter box with food and water and that it!!!  I would not want that for my cat and I am sure you would not want that for your cat either.
