What to Do if You See a Coyote in South Charlotte?

On a spring day, a coyote is standing close to the camera.

Seeing or encountering a coyote in a suburban or urban landscape might be very rare but you will need to know what to do if you see a coyote so that you can deal with the situation in the right manner. Since coyotes are nocturnal, you might see them rarely but when you encounter them you might scare them away with your presence as it is the natural behavior that these animals exhibit and it should concern you. But generally coyotes are seen and heard mostly in the mating season and you can spot them crossing streets and yards. These animals fear human beings as it is their nature but whenever you see coyote you should be sure that your children and pets are safe and secure.

Are you wondering what to do if you see a coyote then you need to know that it is a naturally timid animal that tends to flee upon seeing or encountering a human? But whenever you see a coyote the best approach is to chase it away by being as loud and big as possible rather than turning your back or running away. You should also do the following actions which include clapping your hands, waving your arms and shouting in a loud authoritative voice so that you can scare the coyote away. It is very important that you make yourself look strong and big so that the coyote runs away and you should never run away from coyote and try to keep scaring it so that it leaves the place.

Coyote generally wanders in search of food and its prey and hence it is important that you keep your yard clean by securing the garbage cans so that it does not come close to your residence. You also need to keep cleaning your yard regularly by cleaning the fallen fruits or food remains that are present in the yard as these things can attract hungry coyotes. You should also make sure that your pets are not left unattended outside your home especially at night because it can increase the chance of attracting coyotes that are always in search of their prey. Even if the coyote approaches your pet, you will need to do everything to scare it away with the use of noisemakers or water hose so that it can leave the yard. This is the best way of making sure that the coyote does not come close to your pet as you can scare it away with your efforts.
