The Bullies 2 the Rescue
The mission of Bullies 2 the Rescue is to provide for the safety and general well-being of English Bulldogs. They focus on the re-homing and/or rehabilitation of English Bulldogs that have become displaced for one reason or another. This 501 (c) (3) charity works on a donation basis, which means that it relies on volunteers and their support and supplies to continue its mission. The rescue caters to both the French and English bulldog. Once the bullies are rescued, the organization relies on the donated supplies to treat and care for the animals. The dogs undergo an admission process into the system to determine the extent of their needs before they are treated and cared for.
At any given time, the rescue has a standard forty to forty-five bulldogs undergoing treatment, rehabilitation and/or rehoming. The rescue offers the foster dogs the following services and products:
- Leashes
- Harnesses
- Training
- Medical care
- Supplements
- Treats
- Constant food
This Bulldog rescue, rehabilitation, and re-home charity go the extra mile by making sure the bulldog is as comfortable as possible as it waits to be adopted by its new owners. In addition to this, it hosts events that aim at creating awareness on these amazing canines with the aim of promoting their future adoption to comfortable homes that will be able to cater to their needs. English Bulldogs are high maintenance dogs with very specific needs. A home that seeks to adopt such a majestic creature will need to have prior knowledge and resources to cater to it.
The bullies that do not get foster homes are welcomed and taken care of in the private shelters known as “Bungalows”. However, most of the dogs end up in private foster homes. These homes have a large impact on the assessment of the dog’s temperament. Once the dog gains access to a foster home, the foster family stays with the dog for a minimum period of about two weeks. The information gathered during this period affects the placement of the dog during adoption. The family also advises the person(s) who seeks to adopt the schedule and traits of the bullies.
