I was pleasantly surprised that, for the money I spent, I got sizeable antler pieces. I normally get whole deer antlers but thought I would give these split elk antlers a try since my dogs could get to the marrow easier, and the dogs were definitely glad I did. I gave each of my dogs one antler and they greedily took them to their respective treat consumption areas (my girl loves her dog bed and my boy loves his corner in our backyard); meanwhile, I put the other three in the freezer as recommended (FYI, these suckers stink, by the way). An hour later, I went to check on the dogs to see how they were doing and was shocked to see how quickly they had already started to wear these antlers down. I can normally leave the deer antlers with them and those will last about 3 weeks, but I had to take these split elk antlers; otherwise, I am sure they could have finished these off in a day. With that, giving the dogs their treat for about an hour day, they were able to go through an antler each in about 4 days. I gave a break for a few days and then broke out two more from the freezer; since it was a hot day, I just gave straight to the dogs, and they had no problem taking them away in their normal manner. The fifth one was interesting as I had to give each dog a turn, but I guess I could have bought two orders to get an even number.

So, as far as my experience is concerned, if you have a problem keeping your dog interested in whole antlers (either deer, elk, whatever) I would definitely try these split antlers, but you’ll definitely want to limit their time.

I have purchased several times from Antler Man and never been disappointed. These antler pieces are quality- good size, usually 4 in the pound, and dogs love. (I have 3 dogs ranging from 25-65 lbs who need things to play with and chew. I always recommend these to friends when their dogs are chewing up everything or tearing through every toy.)

I don’t often write reviews even though, most all the time, I am very satisfied with my purchases. However, I was beyond satisfied with this item and I felt compelled to share. In this package were 4 large antler splits, comparable to XL or jumbo size at my local pet store. At my local pet store, splits of this size cost anywhere from $19.99 – $29.99 each. This item gives you 4x as much and my dogs love them…they actually fight over them. I will be a regular customer of Antler Man!!
