The Many Uses of Apple Cider Vinegar For Our Pets

Many of us are becoming more conscience of what chemicals are used in the products we purchase. We are trying to eat more organic foods and are even buying organic pet foods. Our insect killers and repellants are organic and safe for all family members. There is also a push to find multiple uses for one product in order to cut costs.

So I decided to investigate which common, safe, natural household product has the most uses for dogs. The answer – apple cider vinegar (ACV). I always have a bottle in my pantry for cooking purposes, but I didn’t realize its many uses for the family dog. After much research and web searching, I came up with this list of canine uses for apple cider vinegar:

Note: All examples listed use vinegar that has been diluted with water. Do not use full strength apple cider vinegar for any of the suggestions listed.

*Add one teaspoon to drinking water to keep your dog flea and tick free.

* A bath with ACV will kill existing fleas and acts as a natural conditioner for fur.

* Adding ACV to dry dog food can promote healthy digestion.

* Wiping the ears and eye area with a half-water/half-vinegar solution will help clear ear and eye infections.

* Using ACV to clean accidents will help eliminate residual odor. Don’t we owe it to our furry friends and our pocketbooks to use a natural product that is safe and effective for treating common problems associated with owning and loving a dog?

Always check with your veterinarian to make sure your pet can handle ACV
